Our friends at Give Forward, an organization that provides free personal fundraising pages, have challenged us to the competition of a lifetime in the only arena that could hold us. Our interns will face off to their interns in a burrito eating battle: The 1st Annual Intern Chipotle Chow-down Challenge.
Ethan Austin (our IA banana man) and Jonny Imerman (just call him the Charlie for our angels in this battle) will put it on the line, bringing 3 interns each for a 45 minute eat down. Word has it that Ethan may commit to sporting the banana suit for a week if he (when he) admits defeat. Stay tuned for more details! Read their side of the battle for fair representation!

In this brief interview, listeners learn about the mission and values of IA right from the “heart” of our organization.

Last night the Blue Man Group in Chicago hosted Imerman Angels staff, volunteers, friends and family for a complimentary viewing of their famous show. If you have not seen them in action, it is definitely an experience. Thank you again for having us and showing your support for 1-on-1 cancer pairing!

The Angel Ambassadors Program is a new initiative which has recently been launched by Imerman Angels at the start of 2010, designed to expand IA’s reach outside of its core market of Chicago. To fulfill this mission, we are launching chapters in other cities around the U.S., where volunteers can help lead and participate in Outreach events in the cities in which they live. There has been an overwhelming desire from volunteers outside of our home base of Chicago to get involved in spreading the word about the IA cause and now these dedicated individuals have a way to do so.
We’ve kicked off the program with 4 ‘test markets’ – Irvine, CA; San Antonio, TX; Winston-Salem, NC; and Jonny’s hometown of Detroit, MI. Our volunteers in these locations are queued up and ready to hit the ground running. In fact, Detroit already has an event on the calendar for mid-February! Once these chapters are on solid footing, we plan to expand the program to other cities with a goal of 10 total chapters in action by the end of the year.
If you have an interest in volunteering in a city with a chapter already in place, or are interested in starting a chapter in your area, please email Brett Lasher at firstname.lastname@example.org.
