Imerman Angels Quarterly Newsletter Volume 1
  A Letter from Jonny Imerman
Hi everyone! I wish each of you wellness and hope your day rocks!

I want to thank EACH of you for taking the time to SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT IMERMAN ANGELS and the importance of our mission!

As you know our 5-Year Mission is this: Beginning January 1, 2013, every cancer fighter in the U.S. will have free access to a cancer survivor within 24 hours of being diagnosed!
  Jonny Imerman
With your help, our network has grown to more than 1,800 cancer survivors STRONG! We have fighters and survivors living in all 50 states, as well as countries such as Italy, Ireland, Germany, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Argentina, Canada, Pakistan, Nigeria, Israel, South Africa and many more!

Imerman Angels remains the largest and strongest network of survivors for 1-on-1 cancer support on the planet, to our knowledge.

Let's work to BRING THIS CANCER WORLD CLOSER TOGETHER and UNITE IT by making more and more connections for people who need them!

I want to thank friends and supporters, hospitals, oncology nurses, social workers, doctors, and cancer partners (ie. LIVESTRONG) for all their help! Their referrals are key to our success!

Just this morning, we connected a 31 year-old woman in the UK fighting cervical cancer and facing radiation and surgery with a 29 year-old woman in Florida who is a 5-year cervical cancer survivor - and she had radiation and surgery too! AMAZING CONNECTION. Powerful friendship!

Please continue to spread the word about Imerman Angels, telling anyone and everyone you can, and we will continue to provide much needed assistance! Please encourage both cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers to call us we are here to help and make this cancer world a better place!

I wish each of you wellness, and happiness, and sincerely thank you!

Jonny Imerman

Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University at Northwestern Memorial Hospital! Each month, Imerman Angels staff and volunteers will serve Berry Chill to in-patient cancer fighters, families, doctors and nurses while spreading the importance of our mission!
Magglio Tigers' right fielder Magglio Ordonez recently auctioned his signature hair on ebay to benefit Imerman Angels, and even more awareness for the cause. Traveling With Imerman Angels
ONS Conference, San Antonio, April30-May2
Thousands of registered nurses at the Oncology Nursing Society's annual conference learned first-hand how 1-on-1 cancer support positively impacts newly diagnosed patients every single day. We understand that nurses are the critical link between fighters and physicians, so we're glad to speak to your group about how we help your patients and why we do it free of charge.

12Y OMG! Conference, New York City, May 4
I2Y is for I'm Too Young For This, a non-profit helping young adults connect about cancer. The OMG! conference is more than about cancer, though. It's also about life and not letting cancer get in the way of it. Visit for tips, tricks, and tools for living your best life with cancer.

AOWS Conference Savannah, May 6-7
Feeling good starts with feeling better, and that's why the Association of Oncology Social Work helps fighters, their friends, and families deal with cancer. They improve well-being by helping fighters and everyone in their social circle understand more about the culture of beating cancer. Part and parcel to this is 1-on-1 cancer support, and that's why we were there.

ASCO Conference, Orlando, May 29-June 2
At the cutting edge of treating cancer, the American Society of Clinical Oncologists is on a mission to improve personalized cancer care - through the latest in treatment, research, education, and 1-on-1 cancer support for fighters, survivors, and caregivers.

Camp Kesem, Burlington Wisconsin, June 16
Founded and run by Northwestern University student volunteers, Camp Kesem is a free one-week, overnight summer camp for children ages 6-13 - all of whom have a parent who has died from cancer, is currently in treatment, or in remission from cancer. It's a special place and we were glad to be there.

Camp One Step At A Time, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, July 7
Cancer shouldn't prevent kids from having a childhood, which is why Children's Oncology Services started One Step At A Time Camp. For the past 31 years, kids fighting cancer have been spending two weeks at camp in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, bonding with other children just like them. Imerman Angels, a partner of Children's Oncology Services, spent a day at camp and made friends with over 300 children facing cancer.

Imerman Angels Testimonial
Marcee Clemens

"When I began this journey, Imerman Angels gave me all of the hope and strength that I would need to make it through this journey. Prior to my involvement with Imerman Angels, I wasn't quite sure how I was going to make it. Not only do they provide cancer fighters with hope, strength and love but they also support the caregivers. They have taught me that there is always light at the end of the tunnel and that anything is possible. I am the wife of Neil Clemens who is a Non-Hodgkin's-Lymphoma cancer survivor! I am so grateful for the support and the wonderful angels that I have been connected with to help me through this journey!"

Survivor Day
Survivor DayIf you've survived cancer, you've got a friend. Hundreds of them, in fact. All of whom lived it up at the 2nd Annual Imerman Angels Survivor Day party at Martini Park. Survivors, supporters, fighters and representatives from 17 cancer care organizations came out to hop, hoof, and hustle to a live swing band, while sharing their personal inspiration. It was truly a magical night!

Rock 4 Angels
Rock 4 AngelsDon't stop believing in 1-on-1 Cancer Support. Hundreds of Imerman Angels fans held onto that feeling with Kevin Chalfant & The Storm at the Rock 4 Angels concert at LaSalle Power Company on June 27. The Storm has toured with Journey, Bryan Adams, REO Speedwagon, and now, they've performed with Imerman Angels, too. The night was truly incredible and a special thank you to our amazing speaker Krystal Bocanegra. Krystal inspired so many with her survival story of her battle with mesothelioma and the unique pair up Imerman Angels was able to provide her. Thank you Kevin Chalfant and the members of The Storm along with our generous sponsors: Stoli, Corona, E & J Gallo Wines, and the Mike Vesole Group for helping us make Rock 4 the Angels such a fun night!
