Please join us to kick off the 2018 running season at the quintessential Chicago Irish pub, Fado, in Chicago’s River North this Thursday, March 22 from 6 to 8 pm for the Team Imerman Angels Shamrock Shuffle Social. This event is free and a great chance to meet your teammates for the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K and/or the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Feel free to bring a friend(s) so they can meet some awesome people and hear about the great mission of Imerman Angels. The first beer is courtesy of Fado – we hope to see you! Click HERE to register (if bringing a guest, please also add them to your registration so we have a good count or share the link/invite with them).

Race Day Information
Team Imerman Angels Meeting Location
Location: Chicago’s Grant Park. Enter at Gate #2 from Michigan Avenue and Congress Parkway and head east to Columbus Drive towards the Lake. Look for the Team Imerman Angels representatives (as well as your teammates) on the corner of East Congress Parkway and Columbus Drive (southwest corner).
Transportation: click HERE for race day transportation information. Public transportation is recommended. If you do drive, allow extra time due to street closures and congestion.
Gear Check: for more information on Gear Check, please review the Participant Guide.
Team Photo: we would love to have you in our team photo! Please meet at the corner of East Congress Parkway and Columbus Drive (southwest corner) at 8:00 am for the 2018 Team Imerman Angels Shamrock Shuffle photo. This will allow Wave 1 participants ample time to load into their corrals. Can’t find us? Call 312 720 4014 and we’ll direct you.
Wave Starts and Gear Check: all participants have been assigned either a Wave 1 Start or a Wave 2 Start. Your assigned Wave determines your race start time as well as where to check your gear. Wave 1 will start at 8:30 with Elites and Corrals A – D closing at 8:20 am (Red Gear Check). Wave 2 will start at 9:00 am with corrals E – H closing at 8:45 am (Blue Gear Check).
What to Wear and What to Bring: it will likely be cool so wear extra clothing that you can wear in the morning and for after you finish (of note, the clothing must fit in your event issued Gear Check Bag). We recommend wearing clothing that you can “throw away” (it’s actually donated to Pacific Garden Mission) once you are in your corral at the Start, but have some warm pieces to wear for post-race. Tip: go to a dry cleaner and ask for a dry cleaner’s bag to wear over your clothes. They are transparent so you can show your event bib if requested and are easily discarded – and they keep the wind away from your core while your waiting to start. Please also bring a photo ID to the race – you must have this for the Post Race Party.
Post Race Party: Imerman Angels will once again be staffing the Beer Tents at the Post Race Party which starts at 9 am and ends at 1:30 pm. The Post Race Part is at Buckingham Fountain and is less than 50 meters from the Team IA Tent. All runners receive one free beer and may purchase additional tickets (either on race day or at the Expo) with valid photo ID. Team Imerman Angels will meet after the race in the NORTH BEER TENT on the east side.

Team Imerman Angels Race Day Singlets
You can pick up your Team Imerman Angels singlet at the Shamrock Social at Fado on Thursday or email Dave at dlouthan@imermanangels.org (NOTE: if you are on the Chicago Marathon team, your singlet will be ready in June). If you have a singlet from being on the team in prior years and that’s easier for you to wear because you don’t need to pick a new one up, that’s fine as well).
