FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Additional Support Services Available for Prostate Cancer Community
Imerman Angels forms partnership with Us TOO International
CHICAGO, IL – The prostate cancer community will have access to more extensive resources for support services though a new partnership between Imerman Angels and Us TOO International Prostate Cancer Education and Support Network. The two organizations have joined forces to better address the support needs of those affected by prostate cancer.
Imerman Angels offers free one-on-one mentoring support by connecting cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers with experienced “Mentor Angels.” Connections are made in all 50 states and globally, based on matching criteria including age, gender, lifestyle, and cancer experience. Imerman Angels provides added value to cancer communities through the world’s largest peer-to-peer database, which allows precise matching for those impacted by cancer.
Us TOO provides educational resources and support services to the prostate cancer community at no charge. Through a network of local support groups, webcasts, events, online communities, monthly newsletters, and a variety of educational materials, Us TOO empowers prostate cancer survivors and caregivers with the knowledge to make informed decisions about testing, active surveillance, treatment options, and management of side effects.
The partnership will provide interested parties originating from either Imerman Angels or Us TOO with access to the full spectrum of complimentary and related prostate cancer resources of each nonprofit organization.
“Through sharing of our resources, our two organizations will enhance the quality of life for those who have been impacted by cancer at an exponential level,” says Imerman Angels CEO and Executive Director Ben Bornstein, himself a three-time cancer survivor. “The devoted staff at Us TOO understands the emotional component of the cancer journey, so our partnership is a perfect match.”
“We’re very excited to be collaborating with Imerman Angels to provide a broader range of personalized support services to the prostate cancer community,” states Chuck Strand, CEO of Us TOO. “In addition to our toll-free helpline providing callers with immediate answers to questions and access to connecting with Us TOO volunteers who can share relevant personal experience that aligns with the caller, we can now invite callers to register with Imerman Angels and be matched one-on-one with a prostate cancer mentor.”
